Hello Reader, And, just like that, summer has bid us toodle pip in the northern hemisphere. The fresh energy of a new season seems to have taken hold vigorously this year. Are you feeling a renewed determination to get things done? My website clients certainly are. I now have availability for just one more custom website project during 2023, so if you want that to be you, please learn more and start the process of working with me here. I'll be accepting bookings for 2024 soon.
Because things are so busy in my little office, I admit I'm skimming through many of my emails at speed. So it's possible that some of the messages that you're sending to your audience are being skipped over, too. This, then, is an ideal time for me to remind you that, unlike many other marketing tactics that have a short shelf life, blog posts can continue to attract and engage readers and clients for years. So here are some blogging articles and resources that I think you'll find helpful:
Fun fact: April and I offer a joint workshop, where we (amicably) debate the pros and cons of blogging for your business, and help you decide on your blogging tactics (if any). It's a lot more lively and engaging than your typical Zoom presentation. So, if you need a speaker for your group, and you'd appreciate hearing both sides of the story, reply and let me know. Client Spotlight: Hughes SuffrenI don't think I've showed you this website yet, a gorgeous custom design I created for author and speaker Hughes Suffren. His book, Emerge: Be You is coming soon, and Hughes is hitting the speaking circuit to grow his audience. We chose a rich, deep color palette for his brand and included video to show what an engaging communicator is. And you can check out his blog, too. |
Some of my other clients with active blogs include Beth Ann Mathews, Rashmi Sirdeshpande, Nell Wulfhart (The Decision Coach), and Jessica Nordell (on Substack). And I was a guest blogger recently for my client Elizabeth Treccase (A Clean Slate), on the topic of 5 Simple but Powerful Lessons I’ve Learned from Hanging Out with a Life Coach. Behind the scenesLife is keeping me on my toes. After returning from England, I enjoyed a short visit from an inspiring friend who started this travel company offering custom itineraries in Ecuador, including the Galapagos islands. (Hubby and I are hoping to make the trip in 2024. Have you been?) Then I built a custom Squarespace website for soon-t0-be-author Garry Cole, which I'll show you next time. And after a terrible reading lull in the summer (I know, what??) I feel lucky to have raced through and loved three books in a row: The Last Letter from Your Lover by JoJoMoyes, All Our Lies Are True by (my client!) Lisa Manterfield, and The One That Got Away by Charlotte Rixon. By the way, you have only 2 more days to enter to win a signed copy of All Our Lies Are True. To enter:

Hello Reader, There's a famous expression in Britain (or maybe it's worldwide, I'm not sure), that you wait ages for a bus, and then three come along at once. Today I'm popping into your inbox to mention a trio of conversations that I hope you'll find useful, entertaining, or both. And... there's a book giveaway, too! 1) Tomorrow (Nov 15) - roundtable discussion: Escape Marketing Overwhelm I'm taking part in this candid conversation about why business owners do too much marketing, and how to...
Hello Reader, Which website service would you like me to discount? I don't always do a Black Friday offer. I'm not a fan of the commercial frenzy that erupts in late November, and the noise in my inbox can be absolutely deafening. However. I'm running a business selling website design services, and income matters! I also have a gap in my client schedule in early December. So this year, I decided to have some fun and ask you to help me choose my Black Friday offer. I've come up with 4 options...
Hello Reader, (Pre-S: if you want me to start work on your new website November 27, please scroll down) Based on the email marketing messages I receive from "experts" who have been doing this for several years, there seem to be 2 distinct camps forming: Those who email every week, about one thing, with just one Call To Action Those who email less frequently, with several different topics and CTAs I'm pretty sure Option 1 drives better business results. After all, when I build a website, I...
